Hot Favorites

July 31, 2017

I've accumulated quite a few favorites recently, and good news is, I'm here to share them all with you guys! I'm sure you are all already guessing that I'll be mentioning a few Glossier products, and you're right! So I apologize in advance if I'm starting to sound a bit like a broken record. I feel all my favorites this time are kind of all over the place, and aren't really in their own category. But without further adieu, here are all the things I've been loving recently!

  • Glossier Invisible Shield: This has been the "it" product of the summer. This is, hands down, my favorite (possibly forever favorite) sunscreen. It applies easily and absorbs quickly into the skin. What I love most is that it applies clear and wears well under makeup while protecting my skin from the sun's harmful rays.
  • Glossier Skin Tint: I'm very surprised at how much I've grown to love this product. Because I have a lot of acne scarring and hyper pigmentation on my face, I didn't think I would like this because of how sheer it is. However, I have used this pretty much every day ever since I got it. It's been my go-to, especially during these scorching hot summer days. Although it is sheer, it does a good job at evening out my skin tone and calming down any redness I may have. It's lightweight and ideal for those days where I want to sport the "no makeup" makeup look.
  • Glossier Boy Brow: The cherry on top to my eyebrow routine. I feel so incomplete when I don't use this after filling in my brows. The formula is creamy and doesn't harden my eyebrow hairs to a crisp. It gives my eyebrows the definition and fullness it needs for that "natural-bushy" brow look.
  • Glossier Balm dotcom: As I have mentioned before on the blog and on my Instagram, I am still in shock at how much I have fallen in love with Glossier's Balm dotcom. I'm sure by the end of this year (if not this summer) I'll have every single scent/flavor they offer. The balm is super hydrating and have done miracles for my dry lips and nasty cuticles lol. For only $12 a pop, you just can't beat it!
  • Glossier Pink Bubble Wrap Pouches: I think one of the most exciting things about a Glossier package, aside from the stuff you ordered, is the pink pouches that come with every order. They're great for traveling or just for carrying your every day needs! All the contents inside are safe and sound since the inside of the bag is lined with bubble wrap. They are also the perfect statement piece!

  •  Pink Adidas Shoes + Backpack: I know I'm going to come off as "basic" but I genuinely like Adidas as a brand and when they have products that come in pink I can't help myself and be tempted to buy. My boyfriend got me these pink Adidas shoes and I've been trying to keep them in mint condition because, not only were they a gift, but they are just too cute that I don't want to ruin them. And once I saw the backpack I instantly fell in love, and I've received a lot of compliments on it. I use this recently as my carry-on bag for my trip to New York, and I was surprised at how much it could fit! It has a slit inside the main compartment for our laptop and then one front pocket. It's insanely comfortable to wear and the straps don't bear down on my shoulders. The overall quality of the of the backpack is incredibly durable and I believe will last me quite a long time, and for only $40 I'm almost tempted to purchase the other one in black.
  • Akuma Press Weeaboo Trash Pin: If there wasn't a pin before that best described me as a person, there is now. I've been into collecting pins and patches lately and this Umaru-Chan "Weeaboo Trash" pin is one of my newest additions. It was a lot bigger than I expected, which isn't a bad thing, and the overall quality is great! It doesn't feel cheap and for $13, I say it's a pretty good deal. Sadly these pins are sold out and I don't believe they'll be restocked. But if you're interested in purchasing some other pins you can check out the Akuma Press website by following this link and follow them on Instagram to keep up with new releases and possible restocks (although that rarely, if not at all happens)
  • Bibble + Sip: Oh my goodness. So glad I got a chance to stop by Bibble and Sip and try out some of their menu items! The lavender lemonade was just what I needed on hot summer day and their melon pan was everything I ever imagined it being. I was hoping they'd have the Saitama macarons that I saw on their Instagram page, but I lucked out. I absolutely adored the alpaca theme they had going on, because we all know how much I love alpacas (almost as much as I love pugs.) Really hoping they plan on expanding outside of New York, and by that I specifically mean come to Nashville lol.
  • Okja: This movie had me feeling all type of ways. It is about these genetically-created "super pigs" that are made for the sole purpose of being turned into food. The movie focuses on one specific super pig named Okja and her "owner" Mija. Mija is a little girl who has been taking care of Okja ever since Okja was a baby. One day the creators of Okja come for her and take her away from Mija. I don't want to give too much away and spoil the movie, but the lengths as to which Mija goes through to save Okja is just so badass. A really heartwarming movie, but the ending is a bit bittersweet. Would recommend to everyone! It's a real eye-opener as it also brings to light the harsh cruelties in which animals (not just to the super pigs) in our reality go through in order to become the food on our plates. You can watch this on Netflix!
July was such a blur to me. All I can remember doing is working! Right when I came back from New York I went right back into my working grind and I spend my days off resting and sleeping in until past noon. But a new month means new beginnings! And also fall is right around the corner, thank goodness. I don't know how much longer I can tolerate this heat.

See you guys next month!
