I've accumulated quite a few favorites recently, and good news is, I'm here to share them all with you guys! I'm sure you are all already guessing that I'll be mentioning a few Glossier products, and you're right! So I apologize in advance if I'm starting to sound a bit like a broken record. I feel all my favorites this time are kind of all over the place, and aren't really in their own category. But without further adieu, here are all the things I've been loving recently!

  • Glossier Invisible Shield: This has been the "it" product of the summer. This is, hands down, my favorite (possibly forever favorite) sunscreen. It applies easily and absorbs quickly into the skin. What I love most is that it applies clear and wears well under makeup while protecting my skin from the sun's harmful rays.
  • Glossier Skin Tint: I'm very surprised at how much I've grown to love this product. Because I have a lot of acne scarring and hyper pigmentation on my face, I didn't think I would like this because of how sheer it is. However, I have used this pretty much every day ever since I got it. It's been my go-to, especially during these scorching hot summer days. Although it is sheer, it does a good job at evening out my skin tone and calming down any redness I may have. It's lightweight and ideal for those days where I want to sport the "no makeup" makeup look.
  • Glossier Boy Brow: The cherry on top to my eyebrow routine. I feel so incomplete when I don't use this after filling in my brows. The formula is creamy and doesn't harden my eyebrow hairs to a crisp. It gives my eyebrows the definition and fullness it needs for that "natural-bushy" brow look.
  • Glossier Balm dotcom: As I have mentioned before on the blog and on my Instagram, I am still in shock at how much I have fallen in love with Glossier's Balm dotcom. I'm sure by the end of this year (if not this summer) I'll have every single scent/flavor they offer. The balm is super hydrating and have done miracles for my dry lips and nasty cuticles lol. For only $12 a pop, you just can't beat it!
  • Glossier Pink Bubble Wrap Pouches: I think one of the most exciting things about a Glossier package, aside from the stuff you ordered, is the pink pouches that come with every order. They're great for traveling or just for carrying your every day needs! All the contents inside are safe and sound since the inside of the bag is lined with bubble wrap. They are also the perfect statement piece!

  •  Pink Adidas Shoes + Backpack: I know I'm going to come off as "basic" but I genuinely like Adidas as a brand and when they have products that come in pink I can't help myself and be tempted to buy. My boyfriend got me these pink Adidas shoes and I've been trying to keep them in mint condition because, not only were they a gift, but they are just too cute that I don't want to ruin them. And once I saw the backpack I instantly fell in love, and I've received a lot of compliments on it. I use this recently as my carry-on bag for my trip to New York, and I was surprised at how much it could fit! It has a slit inside the main compartment for our laptop and then one front pocket. It's insanely comfortable to wear and the straps don't bear down on my shoulders. The overall quality of the of the backpack is incredibly durable and I believe will last me quite a long time, and for only $40 I'm almost tempted to purchase the other one in black.
  • Akuma Press Weeaboo Trash Pin: If there wasn't a pin before that best described me as a person, there is now. I've been into collecting pins and patches lately and this Umaru-Chan "Weeaboo Trash" pin is one of my newest additions. It was a lot bigger than I expected, which isn't a bad thing, and the overall quality is great! It doesn't feel cheap and for $13, I say it's a pretty good deal. Sadly these pins are sold out and I don't believe they'll be restocked. But if you're interested in purchasing some other pins you can check out the Akuma Press website by following this link and follow them on Instagram to keep up with new releases and possible restocks (although that rarely, if not at all happens)
  • Bibble + Sip: Oh my goodness. So glad I got a chance to stop by Bibble and Sip and try out some of their menu items! The lavender lemonade was just what I needed on hot summer day and their melon pan was everything I ever imagined it being. I was hoping they'd have the Saitama macarons that I saw on their Instagram page, but I lucked out. I absolutely adored the alpaca theme they had going on, because we all know how much I love alpacas (almost as much as I love pugs.) Really hoping they plan on expanding outside of New York, and by that I specifically mean come to Nashville lol.
  • Okja: This movie had me feeling all type of ways. It is about these genetically-created "super pigs" that are made for the sole purpose of being turned into food. The movie focuses on one specific super pig named Okja and her "owner" Mija. Mija is a little girl who has been taking care of Okja ever since Okja was a baby. One day the creators of Okja come for her and take her away from Mija. I don't want to give too much away and spoil the movie, but the lengths as to which Mija goes through to save Okja is just so badass. A really heartwarming movie, but the ending is a bit bittersweet. Would recommend to everyone! It's a real eye-opener as it also brings to light the harsh cruelties in which animals (not just to the super pigs) in our reality go through in order to become the food on our plates. You can watch this on Netflix!
July was such a blur to me. All I can remember doing is working! Right when I came back from New York I went right back into my working grind and I spend my days off resting and sleeping in until past noon. But a new month means new beginnings! And also fall is right around the corner, thank goodness. I don't know how much longer I can tolerate this heat.

See you guys next month!

See you guys next month!

My boyfriend and I went to the beach quite a few times during my visit to New York. The weather was just too perfect to be spending it indoors! And of course, I never forgot to pack the most important beach necessity, sunscreen! But not just any sunscreen, the Glossier Invisible Shield. This is a total game-changer because it's not like other sunscreens on the market. Most sunscreens are thick, feel heavy on the skin, and leave a rather unattractive white cast after applying. But with the Invisible Shield, it's just that, invisible! It glides on clear and feels lightweight which is perfect for those hot and humid summer days. It also has an SPF of 35, so it's not too much but not too little! Also just like any other sunscreen, make sure to reapply when needed or just about every few hours.
Peep the Glossier gang in the latest issue of Domino Magazine. Thanks Briana for introducing this magazine to me, I had to pick it up as soon as I saw her post this on her Instagram! You can pick this magazine up at your local bookstore or news stand.
My boyfriend loved using the Invisible Shield! So that's another great thing about the Invisible Shield, it's not only for us girls, but our adorable boyfriends/significant others too! It kept us both from getting sun damaged and let us have plenty of safe sun!

Don't forget that sunscreen shouldn't just be applied when the sun is out, but all year round! Sun exposure is one of the main causes for pre-mature aging, and we definitely don't want any of that! So step up your skincare game and be sure to protect your skin and wear sunscreen. You can get the Invisible Shield over on the Glossier Website or at the Showroom out in SoHo.

Also for all your Canadian Glossier fans, the wait is finally over and Glossier is now shipping internationally to Canada! Be sure to subscribe to their emailing list and follow them on Instagram to hear where they'll be shipping out to next. Lastly, use my coupon code for 10% off your first order!

Anthony and I have been talking about taking a day trip to Philly for quite some time now. We almost didn't go. But fortunately we managed to make it work and had so much fun! I can see Philadelphia as a possible candidate of somewhere I see myself possibly living. The vibe it gave off was almost like a hybrid between Nashville and New York put together. It wasn't quiet as fast-paced as New York, yet still had the same liveliness. However at the same time it was also a bit more laid back like Nashville.

The first place we went to, of course, was a donut shop, Dottie's Donuts. We heard about this place through Instagram and had to check it out, especially because they are a vegan donut shop! Their donuts were enormous yet light and fluffy. I had the matcha-lemon and Anthony had the cherry almond. Both were so yummy!
Look at that hamstring muscle. Unf.

We arrived to Philly early in the day (like 9 am early) so not a lot of places were open just yet. So we decided to walk around a do a little sight-seeing. The Rocky Steps at the Philadelphia Museum of Art was our first stop. If you watched my June Vlog, you'd see me Naruto running some of the steps lol. We didn't actually go inside the museum though. But not too far from the Rocky Steps was the Rodin Museum.

Welcomed by "The Thinker"

We started to get hungry and were on the hunt to find Hip City Veg. It took probably about 40 minutes just to find a parking spot. I was starting to get hangry and it didn't help that it was possibly one of the hottest days in Philly, and we all know I don't do well in the heat. But it was all worth it after we got our food. Anthony ordered the Zip Burger and I ordered the Philly Steak. Both were mouth-watering. If I had to only eat one food for the rest of my life, it would be Hip City's Philly Steak. Yes. It was that good. Don't forget the sweet potato fries and sriracha aioli.  Mouth-watering.

A somewhat sexualized / immature picture of my boyfriend

The heat was really starting to get to me, and made me not want to do anything but complain and whine. But as we were walking around we stumbled across this giant water fountain that people were swimming in. This fountain was Heaven-Sent I tell you, because it just made the hot weather more tolerable. We were both wishing we had brought an extra pair of clothes so we could swim around, but we managed to cool off just by dipping our feet in.

We couldn't really think of much else to do, and yet we still had the whole day ahead of us! To kill some time and until we thought of something else to do, we walked across the street to the Free Library. Then we walked to a frozen yogurt place near by to beat the heat. Then after almost deciding to go home from not being able to think of anything else to do, The Magic Gardens popped into my head! I don't know how I forgot about this place when it was on my list of places I wanted to visit!

The Magic Gardens is not your typical botanical garden. It's a array of murals created by different bits and pieces of what we would deem "trash." The artist behind the Magic Gardens is Isaiah Zagar and it took him about 8 years to finish. Even the Obamas donated some tiles to Zagar for him to incorporate into his work.

This was the last stop on our Philly trip and I don't think there could've been a better way to end it. I'm so happy that Anthony seemed to enjoy it more than I expected! Couldn't have asked for a more adventurous day with my favorite person to have adventures with :)

The Glossier Showroom was at the tip-top of my list of places I wanted to visit and with my recent trip to New York, it came true! The showroom is the only physical store where you can purchase and try out Glossier products in person. They currently don't have any other showroom or stores, but do have the occasional pop-up shops in New York and California. (waiting for them to pop up in Nashville lol)  Here are some photos I snapped while stopping by the showroom.

When you first walk in, one of the first things you see is their newest release, the Balm dotcom in Birthday Cake.
Throughout the showroom there were cute little sayings on the mirrors, like this one that says "You Look Good."

Have safe sun this summer with the Glossier Invisible Shield!

I thought it was so neat that when you want to place a purchase, you go up to one of the workers in the cute, pink jumpsuits (which I unfortunately did not get a photo of) and they fill out a form that looks similar to a prescription! You simply just tell them what you would like to buy, they fill it out, and then walk up to the register to purchase your goodies :)
Visiting the Glossier showroom was so much fun! I loved how bright and pink the room was, seriously a room full of aesthetics. And being able to try out all the Glossier products that I've been eyeing basically made me feel like a kid in a candy store. If you're ever in the SoHo area and want to check out the showroom, just look for the Glossier banners outside! Overall, a fun experience and super happy with what I bought <3

Hello, from the Glossier Showroom!!

What's In The Box?!

I'm so excited to finally get my hands on some Glossier products! Glossier was founded by Emily Weiss and is a brand that tons of beauty and fashion bloggers have been raving about all over Instagram lately. They're a brand that focuses more on enhancing one's natural beauty and their products are more geared toward getting the perfect "no makeup" makeup look, which is what I've been into as of late.

I've been holding off on splurging, but I finally decided to take the plunge and I can hardly contain myself. I decided to purchase mainly skincare products since their slogan is "Skin First Makeup Second." I chose to hold off on spluging on their makeup products because I knew I was going to be visiting their showroom soon. Might I mention, and this may come off weird, but I was beyond happy knowing I was fiiiiiiinally going to own one of those cute, pink, bubble wrap pouches (which comes free with each purchase). They are just so adorable and make the perfect travel pouch or every day makeup bag!
Glossier's packaging is on point. Everything was tucked away in this sleek white box with the giant Glossier "G" logo on it. Glossier really has this "minimalist" aesthetic down and I'm totally digging it.

Skin Is In
The first couple of things I wanted to mention are the items in the Phase One Set ($45 USD). Like I said earlier I mainly wanted to delve into their skincare products and I believed the Phase One Set is the perfect start!

WhatYou'll Get!

  1. Milk Jelly Cleanser $18: A facial cleanser great for removing makeup or just everyday dirt and grime that can accumulate throughout your day! The perfect start and end to your day. It is a gel-like consistency and is super gentle on the skin and eyes, not to mention does a superb job at removing your makeup! (maybe not the best at removing pesky-waterproof eye makeup)
  2. Priming Moisturizer $25: A primer and moisturizer all in one tube. Great for those who have dry skin, like myself. The formula is super smooth and absorbs into the skin easily. What I love is that it also incorporates an anti-redness complex, which redness is something I have the most trouble with. I find this my go-to when I'm in a bit of a rush and don't have time to apply my moisturizer and primer separate.
  3. Balm dotcom $12: With the Phase One Set you get to choose your flavor/scent of balm, and good luck with that because they all smell soooo good, it was tough for me to pick which one I wanted! I ended up choosing the rose one with mine because I liked that it had a hint of pink to it. I didn't expect myself to love this product as much as I do, and now I find that I don't think I can live without it! It's a very versatile product that you can use on your cuticles, lips, just about anywhere! It's incredibly moisturizing without the stickiness.
Three products great for starting the day! Feel refreshed and clean after using the cleanser, then prime and moisturize at the same time, and finish off with your favorite scented balm. What more could you want? (aside from more Glossier, duh) Might I mention, that if you're like me and fall in love with the Balm dotcom, they actually have it to where you can buy a set of 3  for $30 (saving you$6) and customize it with the 3 flavors you want!
Have Safe Sun!

Summer is happening here in the States and with summer, comes lots of sun. We can all admit that we probably don't wear as much sunscreen as we should, and most of it is more than likely because we're not in the habit of doing it. Another reason may be because sunscreen just feels gross and is super thick and can be uncomfortable to apply and wear. However, none of these things will be a problem once you start using the Invisible Shield SPF 35 ($34). With this sunscreen, you'll find that applying sunscreen will become one of your new favorite steps to your skincare routine! It's not thick, or tacky like regular sunscreen, and the best part? It applies clear! No more worrying about that typical white-cast that other sunscreens give off. I don't think I've skipped out on the sunscreen ever since I've incorporated this into my routine. Seriously, best decision you'll ever make, and not just for the summer, but for the rest of your life!

I am all about facial oils and serums, I'm always raving about the Sunday Riley Luna Oil, but I wanted to broaden my horizons and see what other options were out there. I was thrilled to see Glossier have facial serums and for a fraction of the cost of the Luna Oil, so of course I couldn't help myself and ended up ordering all three of Glossier's Supers. They all had their own benefits that it was hard to just chose one! They are $28 USD each, but $65 if you purchase the package deal, meaning you save $19! (That's enough to buy a Cloud Paint *wink wink*)

What Makes Them So Super?

  1. Super Bounce : Use this if your skin is going through a rough patch and feeling a little tight. The Super Bounce does a great job at hydrating, softening, and plumping the skin. During these hotter months I found myself grabbing for this more as opposed to a regular, cream moisturizer. When using a cream moisturizer, it can leave my skin feeling heavy and a bit greasy. However, when using this it not only moisturizes my face, but I don't have to worry about that heavy, greasy feeling throughout the day.
  2. Super Glow: Ever woke up and notice you skin was looking a bit dull? Or maybe you didn't get enough sleep the night before and now it's showing through your complexion? Then check out the Super Glow, which is designed to give your skin back that healthy glow. I use this every morning after cleansing my face and right before applying moisturizer. I have noticed that sometimes this does sting my face a little when I first apply it, but goes away after I work it into my skin.
  3. Super Pure: A savor to combat those random (occasionally hormonal) breakouts we tend to get every now and then. I like using this in combination with the Super Bounce. I would apply the Super Pure first then bring back the moisture into my face with the Super Bounce.
Of course things take time and I can't honestly say which one is my favorite yet! (I've only been using these for about a two and a half weeks now) I don't want to get ahead of myself and say I see a difference in my skin, when it might just all be placebo. However I have heard nothing but good things about The Supers, so I can't wait to get back to you guys about my full experience with them! I will note that you can use more than one each day, but do not use them more than once a day.

Last but not least, Glossier's most popular, cult favorite, and number one best selling product, the Boy Brow. How could I not order this with my very first purchase? I ordered it in black, because I felt since the product is advertised to help enhance the brow, that picking a product with color would be more beneficial on my end. This is perfect for those who already have a natural, thick brow, but can still be used by those, like myself, who are less fortunate and have little to no eyebrows. My brows are so sparse that they need all the help they can get. I do prefer wearing this after I fill in my brows with the Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz, but I can and have worn the boy brow by itself, and I still love it just as much. The formula is a creamy wax that doesn't leave your brows stiff and flaky, it gives your brows the hold and fluff you need for that perfect "groomed yet natural and wily" look.

Brush your teeth, brush your brows, and then maybe brush your hair

I am so delighted to have finally shared thoughts on Glossier with you guys. Can't wait to try the other Glossier products as well! And if you're interested in purchasing their products be sure to use my coupon code for 10% off your first order! I will be honest and say I do get $5 worth of store credit each time someone uses my code, but that's not why I want you guys to use the code or purchase these products. I just love getting and love sharing good deals and discounts and for great products like these, it's a win-win situation if you ask me. If you don't want to use my coupon code, at least be sure to subscribe to their emailing list for exclusive sales, product releases, and so much more!

First Purchase From Glossier! (Plus Coupon Code)

July 18, 2017

I really should come up with more fun and appealing names for these vlog posts haha. Anyone have any suggestions? I feel "June Vlog 2017" is too boring. Yes, it's pretty straightforward and all, but I wanna make it sound more exciting! Maybe I'll add a couple exclamation points at the end. I'm probably thinking way too hard into this. Anyway, June went by rather quickly, and we're already almost through July! Half the year has already gone by, can you believe that?

Some highlights for this month:

  • Making a giant fort for my little brother
  • Jordan's 21st birthday
  • Maverick The Fat Cat
  • First Glossier Purchase
  • Going to New York
  • Seeing Gallant and John Legend + Meeting Gallant <333
  • Visiting The Glossier Showroom
  • Eating Taiyaki ice cream
  • Stopping by Bibble + Sip (new favorite place in the city)
  • Going to Philly for the first time ever!
With the months going by so fast, it's hard to keep up with posting the vlogs! I wanted to make sure the vlog was the first to go out! Life just throws so much at you that you seriously have to choose to either not get any sleep or work on what you need/want to geNt finished. I tried to really consolidate the video down to all the important stuff and not include too many clips of me just talking, because I find that I'm rather boring to listen to lol.

I have a ton of other posts currently in the works so stay tuned for those! Be sure to follow me on Instagram and Snapchat for behind the scenes and more current updates @katsangfroid I hope you are all having a great summer so far! Even though this is probably one of the hottest summers I have ever experienced, and genuinely do not do well in the heat whatsoever, I am trying to enjoy it as much as I can.
