Hey, loves! Back with another "favorites" kind of post. Expect a lot of anime mentions, because my inner weeb has unleashed itself once again. (Hence the title) Also Nashville's annual anime convention, also known as Middle Tennessee Anime Convention / MTAC, was a couple months ago. Therefore, I felt it was rather necessary and expected that a lot of my favorites were going to be anime-related haha.
Some items I wanted to mention are the things I got from MTAC. And I seriously am so happy with all my purchases that I lowkey gave myself a pat on the back. The first are posters, which I got for $4 each. My favorite one out of the bunch is the Himouto Umaru-chan one. I have probably watched the anime over 3 times already because it is basically an anime about me. (Side note: The series just released on DVD yesterday! Go get it now on Amazon for $40) This is my go-to anime when I'm feeling sad because it always cheers me up. Also no surprise here that I also got a Yuri! On Ice poster, which I recently got signed by figure skating Olympian, Jason Brown! There were a bunch of other Yuri On Ice posters, but I felt this captured Yurio's personality the best. And the last poster is of Sailor Moon, of course, another one of my favorite animes. I am so in love with all these posters, I love looking at them hanging up on my wall.

My overall, hands down, favorite purchase from MTAC was this super cute pug plushie! I named it Sasuke, because it seemed fitting at the time for some reason. I almost didn't get him because I was also eyeing the sloth plush at first, but I'm very glad I went with the pug. I'm ashamed at myself for even second-guessing on whether or not to get the pug! But he is my new cuddle buddy and I am suffering from severe cute-aggression whenever I see it because I want to squeeze it's head off!!

Television Shows
-------------------------------------

  1. The first anime is a cutes-y anime called Gabriel Dropout. This show is nothing but irony. It is about an angel named Gabriel who just graduated from Angel School as the top student. She was ambitious, cheerful, and an overall role model to the other angel students. Since graduating she is sent down to Earth to help humans find happiness. However one day she comes across MMOs and from there it all goes downhill. She becomes lazy, a complete gamer-shut-in, and doesn't care to help humans whatsoever. I would say Satania is my all-time favorite character and is what makes the show pretty comical.
  2. The second anime is called Kiss Him, Not Me. This was one of the funniest animes I've watched in a while. It is about a girl named Kae Serinuma, who is an otaku and fujoshi. What that means is that she loves anime/manga, and also "boy love." She doesn't care too much about falling in love and would much rather ship two boys together! She is one hundred percent okay with watching from the sidelines and seeing two boys fall in love. The first two episodes had me laughing so much, and probably because I can relate to the main character and her otaku/weeb vibes. The anime is done, but the manga is still ongoing, so if you're still wanting more after finishing the short 12-episodes of the anime, then you can probably read the manga somewhere online!
  3. The last anime I'm going to talk about is My Hero Academia. I kept seeing this as one of the top watched animes on Crunchyroll, but never paid much attention to it. Then my friends kept talking about it, so one day when Eshie and Monty came over, they put this anime on and I did not expect for me to love it as much as I do now. This anime is about a world where super heroes and villains exist. They have these things called "Quirks" which is the term for their super power. The main character's name is Deku, whose dream is to become one of the greatest super heroes like the one and only All Might. However his dreams of becoming a hero are crushed when he is told he is "quirk-less." However, one day he crosses paths with an unlikely person and from there his story of becoming the greatest super hero takes off. I don't want to give away too much because that would just ruin all the greatness of the show. highly highly highly recommend you guys watch this anime!!
Fashion + Beauty
-------------------------------------

I lied. My overall favorite purchase from MTAC is this One Punch Man shirt. Such a great anime/manga and Saitama is bae af. So many people have told me how much they love this shirt, and it has just been my shirt for everyday wear. If I'm not sure what to wear, I grab this. A night out with friends? I pick this shirt. I'm sure people probably think I don't own any other shirts than this because I've worn it so much. I tried searching for it online, but I'm afraid I came up empty handed.

I have normal - dry skin (mostly dry, but normal on a good day) but there are days where I can get a little oily in my T-zone. And don't even get me started on how freakishly large my pores are. So when Milk Makeup first released their Blur Stick, that was advertised to help "blur" the appearance of pores, I was all for it. So I was super duper happy that I was sent a free mini sample of their Blur Stick when I ordered from their website! I would say that in my opinion this is geared more towards people with oily skin, but this does wonders even on someone like me who has drier skin. My pores are non-existent whenever I use this and really does keep the oil at bay! Without a doubt I'm going to purchase the full size of this before my mini runs out! (And that's probably going to have to be soon, because I have used this every single day before I apply my face makeup)
Lately I've been wearing very minimal eye makeup, mostly just mascara nowadays. And at first I didn't really care or go to great lengths (no pun intended) to find a really good mascara. I have sad Asian lashes that are short, sparse, and super straight, so usually with majority of mascaras that I would use, they would go limp and flat by the end of the day, regardless of how lengthening or volumizing the mascara claimed to be. But this mascara changed my whole mindset on mascara and that I should seriously up my lash-game. The bristles glide effortlessly against my lashes and has not clumped on me once. Every single lash is coated evenly and I'm just so in love with this. For $20, yes I would most definitely spend the money on this mascara because there is just something about it that isn't like those other mascaras on the market. In my opinion, probably one of the best mascaras I have used EVER.
Round of applause for NYX because their Dewy Setting Spray is something that has become a "must" in my beauty routine. I feel so incomplete when I don't use this and it surprisingly has lasted me for quite a long time, for having using it almost every single day. This is like a Heaven Sent for those with drier skin, or for those who love that natural and dewy kind of look. The mist is a bit "chunky" and uneven at times, but I don't mind it too much, therefore if you're not too meticulous about that stuff, then this spray is something you should check out. I got mine at Ulta and a lot of other people must really love this setting spray too, because, I kid you not, this is usually sold out every single time I check. So for those who love the dewy skin look and are on the market for an affordable setting spray, go for this one!

Cytus is a game that I have seriously been addicted to. It's basically like DDR on the iPad, but instead of your feet you use your fingers. I was introduced to this game after seeing Mei (@infrontofapple) play it on her Insta Story. I was so intrigued by the game, that I was willing to spend the $2.00 to play it. It is crazy addicting and I'm still pretty noob-ish at it, but I'm devoted to become as good as Mei. Seriously, watch her play, and you'd just be confused on how she can keep up with the notes lol. You can get this game in both the App store and in the Google Play Store!

What are some of the things you guys are loving recently? Let me know in the comments below! I'd love to read about them!

What are some of the things you guys are loving recently? Let me know in the comments below! I'd love to read about them!

I recently went to go see the China Lights down at the Fairgrounds. I visited something very similar back in California, so I was pretty excited to see something like this come to Nashville! The display is in Nashville until June 11th and if you're wanting to go, you can purchase tickets in advance by clicking here.

Aside from the lights, the performances were fairly entertaining! I found myself "ooohing and awe-ing" more than I expected. My favorite performance that I saw was probably the Jar Balancing act. Mad props to that guy because he made it look super easy, but I don't necessarily recommend it for people to try at home haha.

I don't think I blend in quite well with the dinosaurs.

I'm glad I got to see the Lights while they are in town! Hopefully they'll come back again next year! If you haven't yet gone to see them, make sure you do before June 11th! Perfect for date night with your significant other or just with a group of friends and family! P.S Also make sure not to wear sandals because the pathways are made out of gravel, and I was unfortunate to experience rocks in my shoes all night haha.

She Cosmetics is a natural skincare line founded by mother-daughter duo, Diana and Brittney Douglas. They are based in California and are strong believers in the "healing powers of nature." If you are all about natural and organic skin care products I highly suggest you look into this line. And to read more about their story click here.

The star of this post is their Antioxidant Peptide Face Creme, which I won in a giveaway they were hosting on their Instagram account. This face creme retails for $55 USD, but if you visit their website now you can use the coupon code "Welcome" for 25% off your order! I was drawn toward this specific face creme because I was looking for something to help my skin battle the everyday pollutants I would encounter throughout the day.

The Antioxidant Peptide Face Creme claims to "rejuvenate, nourish, and hydrate skin on a cellular level." It is supposed to moisturize and heal dry skin, which we all know I am a victim of, fight against wrinkles and overall improve the elasticity and texture of your skin. This face creme is ideal and marketed for those with dry skin and or for those who are looking for something anti-aging (aka someone like me!!) To see the full list of ingredients click here.

The product has a slight hint of orange and applies super smooth. Since this is a first impressions, I don't really have a lot to say about this product. But so far so good! I've used this about three or four times now and it hasn't broken me out. It does moisturize my dry skin, but not sure about what it's done for wrinkles, because as I said before I haven't yet used this product enough to see any difference. Overall, I can see myself repurchasing this for it's moisturizing powers, especially for the drier months ahead!
Along with the face creme they sent me three small samples of their other products. The three samples they sent me were of their Synergy Serum, Blueberry Cranberry Oxygen Scrub, and their Skin Brightening Oxygen Mask.

  1. Synergy Serum ($35) The Synergy Serum is one of She Cosmetic's most popular items. It is suitable for all skin types and according to their website, claims to "provide up to eight-fold antioxidant protection, 96% reduction of sunburn cells, and prevent the formation of free radicals in sun exposed skin." So for all of those who expect to be out in the sun this upcoming summer, I would say this is something you'd want to look into! The product doesn't have a scent to it, and it applies easily onto the skin. I did notice that it took some time to set and made my skin feel a bit sticky while I was waiting for it to dry and absorb into the skin. However, once it did dry up, my skin felt moisturized and plump!
  2. Blueberry Cranberry Oxygen Scrub ($30) The Blueberry Cranberry Oxygen Scrub is what caught my attention the most. I love anything fruity so this was right up my alley. The scrub is created to gently exfoliate the face to restore freshness while also packing your skin with Antioxidants and the vitamins it needs to stay looking healthy. This is suitable for all skin types and worked really well with my dry skin. The texture of this product is of a gel consistency with micro-beads in them. It was not abrasive against the skin whatsoever. Highly considering purchasing the full size of this!
  3. Skin Brightening Oxygen Mask ($35) The first thing I want to mention about this mask is how wonderful it smells! And yes, you guessed it, it smells likes berries. Just like the Oxygen Scrub, this includes blueberries and cranberries to help fight signs of aging. This mask also incorporates fruit pulp to give brightening benefits to your skin. As much as I couldn't wait to use this mask, the moment I did, I had to wash it off, because it just burned my skin. I tried using it a second, and even a third time, but each time it would cause a burning feeling on my skin. I'm not sure if it's supposed to do that, but I think it's because my skin is so dry and sensitive, that my skin couldn't handle it. However, my skin did appear brighter after washing off the mask, so it does do what it claims. But I don't think I'd be willing to sit and have my skin feel like it's burning, for the sake of beauty haha. But don't let my experience with this mask deter you from purchasing it!
So if you're someone who loves natural and organic beauty products She Cosmetics is a brand I would look into for sure! I am not being paid or sponsored by them to write this post, so you can believe me when I say all the opinions about these products are entirely my own. I've been in contact with the company and they are super genuine and sweet! Don't hesitate to check them out! Bonus fact: They are vegan and cruelty-free!

Beluga whales?

As of lately, or well I guess you can say throughout my whole life, I've always been that one person that always has a weird story to tell. Most people say that they cannot remember any of the dreams they have, but I have never had that problem. Usually I can remember about 90% of my dreams the day after and they always make for a funny story to tell to my friends. So I decided that I'd start writing posts about my crazy dreams because I thought it'd be a pretty fun idea to share with you guys.

Recently I feel my dreams have just been getting weirder and weirder. For instance a couple weeks ago I had a dream that two of my friends and I went on a vacation to a beachy area. And there was a part of the vacation where you were able to feed fish to beluga whales. You could even get in the water with them! So my two friends and I decided it be a good idea to feed them. We got in the water with them and started feeding them fish, but we got scared because they all started swarming us and swimming a little too close. So we decided to get out of the water and eat lunch. But where we were eating lunch was still super close to the water and I could see the beluga whales eyeing us and just waiting for us to get back into the water to feed them.

The second dream I had started off fairly weird. ( I mean what dream isn't?) I was driving out of my neighborhood and at first the roads were super clear. Then all of a sudden they turned super icy and I was like "FML" I got to turn back, because obviously I didn't want to wreck and I have little to no real-life experience driving in those kinds of conditions. So as I was attempting to turn around all of a sudden I was out of the car and standing in the middle of a mansion. The decor and interor was absolutely gorgeous. There were paintings everywhere, there was lush, red carpeting on the floor, and a chandelier above me. And for some reason I already knew my goal from being in the house, is to find my way out. But the house was like a never-ending maze. Every single room looked almost exactly the same and usually led me back to where I started. I suddenly somehow found my way out and all of a sudden night turned into day and I was at a pool party with my boyfriend, Anthony. We were trying to get some ranch for our food, but the dispenser was empty, so of course us being us, we were trying to fix it. I can't really recall how it ended, but that's the last bit that I remembered most.

The last dream I'm going to talk about still makes me laugh whenever I think back to it. Again I was in a car, but two random girls were in my backseat. (No, I don't think I kidnapped them) It was night time, and we were just randomly parked on the side of the road. One of the girls started freaking out and hyperventilating because apparently we were locked inside the car. I tried to calm her down but couldn't. She started breathing against the window, and creating that foggy smudge, I told her to write out the words "Help" to get people's attention if they were to drive by. That plan failed so I started banging on the windows, and eventually one car finally noticed us. Two guys came out the car, and this is where I questioned our intelligence. I rolled down the window as the two guys came up and told them how we were locked inside the car. I then proceeded to climb out the window and explain how these two girls were freaking out. The two guys didn't seem to question how dumb we were and told us they'd get us home. The two guys got into two different cars, again not making sense since they both arrived in one car together. I got in one car and the two girls got in the other. I sat in the backseat, and the guy started chuckling a bit and said I was adorable and didn't need to feel shy around him. I then noticed that that guy was the Korean Pop Star, G-Dragon. I was a bit confused because he had cotton balls in his hand, like it was normal, and continued to try and flatter me with compliments. I rejected him and said that I wasn't interested (I've always been more of a T.O.P girl) and that I had a boyfriend. He then put a grocery bag on his head, and looped the handles around his ears, then started eating the cotton balls while saying, "No worries, I'll win you over eventually." And that's how it ended.

Not sure what these dreams mean, or if they even mean anything. Usually I just have dreams about me being at work due to always being there and probably being somewhat traumatized from working all the time. I haven't had any dreams as of late, and maybe because I haven't been sleeping as well as I should. But I hope you guys had a good laugh while reading about what I dream about!

Dreaming of....

I don't know what it is lately, but I've been on a winning streak with these Instagram contests, which is a big surprise to myself as well because I hardly ever win anything! I was so happy when Bohindie Stream and Cunning Co announced that I had won their contest because the goodies they were giving away were just too cute! But before I get into the prizes, let me tell you a little bit of the two companies that hosted the giveaway.
Also, just a small disclaimer that this post is not being sponsored by either of the two companies and all opinions and statements said in this post are one hundred percent honest and entirely my own.
Bohindie Stream

I first came across this bohemian-inspirited jewelry brand when they followed me on Instagram. My usual taste in jewelry is fairly dainty and minimal, but I couldn't help but be fascinated by all the stunning pieces from this line! The company was founded by the oh-so-sweet Briana (aka Bri), who is based in Fort Meyers, Florida. She started handcrafting jewelry back in 2013 when she was 19 and from there, Bohindie Stream started to blossom! To read more about this brand click here.

The piece that I received was their "Sailor Moon" necklace. I immediately fell in love with the piece because of the clear/white crystal, which matched perfectly with the ring that I always wear. Also the name was an added bonus hehe. I usually don't like to wear really long/layered necklaces, so I was extremely happy to see the chain length to be on the shorter side. What I also love is that this piece can be dressed up or worn casually. It adds that extra little sparkle to any outfit!

Cunning Co.
Cunning Co. was founded by the talented artist, Rebecca Cunningham. They are a stationary/illustration gift brand based in Atlanta, Georgia. Her pieces primarily focus on watercolors and cute little sayings that make the perfect gift for all your loved ones. If you want to check out more of her work, click here.

The item I received from Cunning Co. was this adorable watercolor print of an aloe plant and the saying "You had me at aloe." I love anything punny and this was right up my alley. I ended up giving the card to my boyfriend as an anniversary gift. What I also love about Cunning Co and Rebecca's designs are how cute, yet timeless they are. If you're on the market for or just looking for some cute stationary I suggest you give Cunning Co. a quick peep! They make the perfect little addition on your walls, on your desk, or anywhere in your home.

Again, thank you to these two companies for hosting the giveaway! Still in shock that I won to be honest. I love the items I received and am super happy to discover two amazing woman-powered companies! These two pieces will definitely not be the last and only pieces I have by them, already eyeing a couple things as we speak. Also Mother's Day is coming up and I'm sure you can find a little something-something for the lovely mamas in your life from these two lovely brands ;)

I was beyond excited to hear that Milk Makeup was releasing a new Holographic Highlighter. I fell in love with their Supernova highlighter and couldn't help but wonder about the Mars one. A couple days ago, for 24 hours Milk Makeup had an early access event to get the Mars Holographic Stick! I was thinking to myself, "It comes out in a few days. I can wait." But then I turned right around and had a "YOLO" moment and decided to take the chance while I had it. The official release date is tomorrow ( 5/2) and you can purchase it on Milk Makeup's Website or on Sephora's Website and store locations for just $28.
There's no wonder Milk Makeup decided to call this new highlighter "Mars" because the color truly does resemble the planet itself. The highlighter is a golden-peach color and gives off a very subtle highlight. Perfect for day time looks. What I love most about the Holographic sticks is that they are great for those who have dry skin, like myself. They give off a dewy finish without looking oily and are super easy to apply. I prefer to use my fingertips to apply rather than directly from the stick itself. I feel by warming up the product with my fingers, it enables a smoother application. What's also great is that this product is also cruelty-free and vegan!
The shipping was super quick and only took about 2 days to get to me. The packaging was sooo cute! It even came with some stickers! Also not only did my package come with free stickers, but also a free makeup bag as well. I am seriously falling more and more in love with this brand you guys. UGH. Along with the items I ordered, I got a free sample of their skin tints and a mini Blur Stick!
Comparing the Mars Highlight to the Supernova, they both give off that "galactic" iridescent glow. Obviously the Supernova is a bit more out of this world than the Mars. I found that when I wore Supernova out, people tend to notice it a lot more, whereas when I wore Mars people didn't really catch my highlight unless I pointed it out to them. Also I did find that when I wore Mars, by the end of the day a lot of it faded, but maybe that's just because it's been rather hot and humid here in Nashville lately, that I probably just sweated it all off haha. Overall I just think that Mars blends in a little too well with my skin that it's not so noticeable. But I'm all about that No-Makeup Makeup kind of look, so it didn't bother me all too much. I just thought that it'd have a better color payoff like Supernova.
However, what I really liked about the Mars Holographic Stick is that it's not limited to being just a highlight, but can be used as a blush,a lip product, or even on your eyes as well! I used this on my cheeks the other day on top of my blush and it gave me an extra flush of color, making me look more awake and giving me a healthier glow.

I tried my best to get a photo of me wearing the Mars highlight, but the lighting didn't want to agree with me today. Believe it or not but majority of the products I used on my face today were from Milk Makeup! I primed my face with the Blur stick and then used the Sunshine Skin Tint in "Sand" as my base, then of course went in with the Mars Holographic stick for highlight.

As you can see below, the Mars Highlight is very subtle against my skin tone, whereas the Supernova completely stands out.
I am super in love with both the Holographic sticks, but would have to say that Supernova is still my number one. But I can definitely still see myself grabbing for the Mars Holographic stick on days where I want a more natural and warmer-toned highlight. Especially since summer is coming up and I feel this is the perfect shade to match with the season! So if you're wanting to purchase the Mars Holographic Stick for yourself head over to Milk Makeup's website tomorrow!

P.S They are also releasing some other goodies like the Blur Spray, Holographic Lip Glosses, a Matcha Cleanser, and a Matcha Toner! So if you're sold, set your alarms and head over to Milkmakeup.com tomorrow! Also a big plus is free shipping and free returns for those who live in the United States.
