Today is the last day of February and also Anthony's last day in Nashville. I just dropped him off at the airport a couple hours ago. And you would think after 3 years of doing this "long distance thing" that you'd get used to saying good-bye, but it sucks every single time. I apologize for my lack of posting on here, and I realize that I've been doing more apologizing than posting and that is definitely not something I want to get into the habit of doing.
We spent our last day together eating a late breakfast at Proper Bagel. It has seriously become our new favorite place to go eat. Their avocado and egg bagel is sooo good. And while on the way there Anthony and I stumbled upon this unique infrastructure. Luckily Anthony saw the penis drawn on the other side, because I almost took a picture with it (how embarassing). We also spotted this interesting license plate.

Anthony only stayed for a week, but I guess we were really making the most of our limited time together, because it felt like he was here for much longer. I'll post more of his visit in a separate post because there's a lot to go over haha. (So much for chronological order)

I bought Anthony a blueberry crumb muffin for him to take on his flight, but....it didn't quite make it lol.

This month has just been a real...I guess you can say, test of character, for me. But I'm just glad I had Anthony by my side to help me forget about my troubles and make me feel like an actual human-being again haha. Overall, I'm glad to say good-bye to February because with this month ending and all the troubles that came with it, it finally feels as if a weight has been lifted off my shoulders. I can finally move on with my life!

I hope your guy's month went well! I hope I didn't put a damper on anyone's mood. But be assured that I'm going to keep a positive mindset and hope that the month of March will be good to us all.

I can honestly say that as much as I have always dealt with dry skin, come winter time it is the absolute worst. These past couple weeks my skin has been dried out and super patchy like never before and I almost cried because I felt like no matter what I did, the itchy, dry, red skin just would not go away. However I was fortunate enough to find three holy grail products that helped manage my winter skin and keep the dryness and dry patches at bay. A little disclaimer:: I purchased all the mentioned products with my own money, and this post and the products mentioned are not sponsoring me.
Sunday Riley has been a brand that I put on a pedestal. Their products are extremely pricey compared to other brands on the market, but you are without a doubt getting your money's worth when it comes to their products. The three products I am going to mention are fairly well-known and are praised among beauty gurus and other bloggers. You probably wouldn't be able to name a better skin care trio than these three products.

Let me first show you guys the dilemma I've been dealing with this winter. As you can see, the area around my mouth and cheeks are peeling and super patchy. I have never experienced dry skin this severe! I know, super gross and unattractive. But it happens to the majority of us, especially during the colder seasons. During the day I would moisturize with the Derma-E Firming Moisturizer and apply it whenever I felt my skin needing a little extra hydration. I haven't even been able to wear any face makeup because my skin is so dry, but the silver lining in it all is that my skin has been able to breathe which I believe is also helping my skin in various ways.
When it comes night time, after I cleanse my face (recently with just a cleansing oil and water) I do three steps. The first is applying the Sunday Riley Luna Oil all over my face. This stuff will last you f o r e v e r, because 2-3 drops is enough to cover my entire face and neck. I believe the best method to apply this oil is by warming it up in the palm of your hands and then patting it into the skin. A fair warning to those who are considering purchasing this product or is trying this product out for the first time, it does have a strong scent to it at first, but after a few uses you get used to it. I know a lot of people get turned off by the scent of the product, causing them to be reluctant to use this, especially on their face, but the smell does grow on you to the point that you won't even notice it anymore.
After letting the Luna Oil set into my skin after 5 minutes I go in with the Good Genes treatment. I don't use this every night, only when I feel my skin is in need of some extra extra TLC. I use about a dime-sized amount and I'm good to go. I really like this product because it instantly brightens my complexion. And when paired together with the Luna Oil, I wake up to super soft and healthy looking skin!
The last step, and most important, is the Tidal Brightening Enzyme Water Cream. I don't know what I would do if I hadn't picked up a sample of this at Sephora. My skin would have probably been beyond dehydrated and crusty if I hadn't stumbled across this. This is one of THE most hydrating moisturizers I have ever used and it just melts into the skin with ease. It  leaves my skin feeling super supple, soft, and hydrated! I want to say that it is very similar to the belief Aquabomb moisturizer, they even look a like too! What I like about the Tidal moisturizer is that it is more like a gel and does not feel greasy or heavy after applying it.

As much as I do enjoy the colder weather, my skin just did not agree with it this year. But thankfully for these three products they've helped me bear through the harsh winds a lot better and, most importantly, kept my skin moisturized! These three items are and always will be included in my beauty/skincare products because I just don't know what I would do without them.

Finally back to my weekly photos. I haven't been as dedicated to is as I had hoped but I manged to scramble up some photos for this past weekend! Also I decided to changed the section from "My Week Through Photos" to "Weekly Photos" because I felt that it was more fitting and although it is a shorter title, it describes the section just as well. I am also going to start including what I used to take my photos and how I edited them just to help out those who are curious to know the whole photo taking/editing process that I went through.
On Friday Eshie gave me these matcha hard candies and I have been obsessed ever since. Everyone who knows me knows how much I love matcha and these candies were no exception. I used the camera on the VSCO cam app to take this and used the preset A4. A4 has been my favorite filter lately because it gives an overall vintage look. I believe one of my favorite Instagram accounts, Rodrigo,  uses A4 as his primary filter for his photos and they always come out looking absolutely stunning!
Saturday was a very long work day. I finally got around to buying groceries and hopefully the dishes I planned on making turn out well. I also finished filing my taxes myself and I'm crossing my fingers that I did everything correctly haha. Being an adult is such a hassle. But I asked Anthony to send me photos of the snow they got up in New York and I am soooo upset that I am not there to experience it! I know it's childish of me to get so excited over snow but I just thought it would be so cute to play in the snow with Anthony and help him shovel the snow huhuhu. This photo was taken on an iPhone 6s and I edited it on Vsco Cam with the J2 filter and decreased the brightness while raising the contrast and temperature just a tad.
Today was just another work day. After work I spent the rest of the day doing chores around the house and then relaxed and picked up where I left off in this new book I got. The book is called "How Not To Die" and it's about how studies are showing how converting to a plant based diet is more than beneficial to human health. The chapters really caught my attention because they all state how not to die from some certain disease or health issue. I'm barely finishing up chapter two so I can't really state my opinion on it yet, but it is pretty interesting so far. I used the Sony G7x to take this photo and then used the preset C8.
I don't really know how to end this post, but I hope you all had a good weekend!

I haven't been posting as frequently these past couple weeks due to many factors. One mainly from being absolutely unmotivated, the other from dealing with the daily life struggles. I don't want to get too into what's been going on in my life because I do want to keep some aspects of my life private. But all is well, or they will be. Nothing to worry about though! I am still going to continue my blog because I feel blogging is just something I enjoy doing and ,although it sounds silly, I am also very passionate about.

Eshie and I have been reminiscing a lot on our high school summers. How we didn't have all these responsibilities or college to worry about. And how our group of friends used to always go out exploring to the most randomest places, no matter how far the drive. We also talked about how we used to always have bon fires. Those were the good days when things were simple. Nowadays our group still keeps in touch every now and then, but we rarely ever see each other. And coincidentally enough as Eshie and I were talking about all this, our friend Eddie called me! Then the next day we ran into Juan. We both took this as a sign that we need to get the old crew back together. Starting with Tarik! Team Paradiso decided to get together and have lunch with him.
This was the spooky part though because as much as we were wanting to get in touch with our friends from the past, the place Tarik ended up choosing to eat at was my dad's old restaurant! It was a little eerie being back there. My anxiety was kicking in, but I mellowed out and found my composure. It's also very good to see that the people that took over the restaurant are treating it well and it seems like business has really taken off! I'm sure my dad would be proud :)
I also got new glasses! I thought these frames were super cute because they were all clear. I've been getting lots of compliments on them too! I know Warby Parker has a very similar pair that I've seen around quite a lot, but these specific frames that Gudetama is modeling is from ZeroUV. You guys know how I always buy my frames from there, they're just super affordable and they have tons of cute styles!
And to end things I just wanted to talk about a song that Anthony introduced me to and I have been stuck on it ever since. I was a bit surprised to see who was in the song because I was familiar with all three of the artists! Especially Tablo, I have been a fan of him ever since the Epik High days. I still know so many of their songs by heart and I wish they would go on tour again! But this collab, this trio. UGH holy. Gallant has been Anthony and I's man crush and we are wanting to see him in concert so bad. I know he's going to be at Bonnaroo this year, but that's money we don't have right now haha.

It's just so crazy how when you feel lost in life, those who matter or just people from your past coincidentally come back into your life. You start to reminisce and think about what you have and how it makes you who you are and even makes you a stronger person. I want to keep all the friendships and relationships I have right now and hope they continue to grow.

February Life Update // Blast From The Past
