November Favorites 2016

December 1, 2016

This month's favorites is going to be a fairly long one. I didn't realize how many products and other various things I was going to talk about until I started writing this post! I'll try to keep it short and simple though so you guys don't end up falling asleep on me! (haha) And you will all be surprised that I actually don't have any anime recommendations for this month. I have been watching some anime recently, but none that I found worthy to classify as a "favorite." A lot of these favorites you probably have seen in previous posts and some you'll probably be raising your eyebrows at. Enough of the chit chat though, and onto the things I enjoyed for the month of November! :)

Starting off with beauty products. As some of you may know the drugstore has been like my go-to for makeup lately. One reason being is because I'm too broke to splurge on products from Sephora or Ulta, but I've managed to fall in love with some products that you can find at your local Walgreens! Don't get me wrong, I'm not the type of girl who only likes to use high end products, I just prefer to use cruelty-free products, and usually the drugstore has very minimal amount of brands that are cruelty free as opposed to higher end products that have a wider range of cruelty-free products.

However I've done some research and looked into some cruelty-free drugstore brands! One of those brands being Milani, which I can honestly say is probably my #1 all time favorite brand from the drugstore. And you guys probably already know which product I'm going to mention because I'm sure everyone basically already has this product in their makeup collection, and that is the Milani 2 in 1 Foundation and Concealer Foundation. I was on the market for a new foundation because all my current foundations were a little too light or just about to run out, but I didn't want to spend $40 on a product. This is one foundation that I've heard a lot about but the store just never had my color. One lucky day I managed to get my hands on this foundation and I've been in love ever since! You can say it's like the drugstore/more affordable version of Kat Von D's Lock It Foundation. It has medium-full coverage and is very buildable. With one layer of foundation almost all my redness and acne scars disappear! I've heard various people complain that it feels a bit sticky when you apply it, but I didn't have that problem at all. It's a super thick foundation when you first pump it out, but when you apply it onto the skin it feels super light, almost weightless even! For $10 I say seriously get your hands on this because it's such a good deal for such a great foundation.

To set the Milani foundation I have been grabbing for the Wet N Wild Transparent Pressed Powder all month long. It was super inexpensive and does not make you look cakey at all! I was a bit hesitant to try this because I have super dry skin and I rarely ever use a powder. However I've seen that the Milani Foundation does get a little shinier throughout the day so I'd thought I'd be on the safe side and try out a powder. I went for a transparent powder because I find it's more natural looking and a little goes a long way.

For my hair I've been using the Living Proof Nourishing Oil. I haven't purchased the full size bottle (hence why I don't have my own photo) but I received a sample size of this in the mail a while back and I don't know what took me so long to finally try this out. I've been getting a lot of compliments on how long my hair has gotten and I believe this oil is what has been helping it look, feel and stay healthy! My hair is the typical coarse and dry Asian hair, but after applying this, my hair is less frizzy, more hydrated, and overall looks great! I like to apply this to dry hair although on the package is recommends applying it while your hair is still damp. I highly recommend this to those who have frizzy and dried out hair because this will work wonders for you! You can get this at your local Sephora or on the Sephora website!

Now moving into skincare products, the first is a deodorant and I actually have not mentioned this on my blog before. I randomly purchased this while at Walgreens one day and it is now probably the only deodorant I will ever use from this day forward. The deodorant is by Tom's and you can find it at your local drugstore, like I said, I got mine from Walgreens and they're about $7. The deodorant is both cruelty-free and claims to contain no animal products! So that's a big plus. I bought the unscented one and I am so amazed at how well this works. This basically works just as well (maybe even better) than clinical deodorants. I don't sweat or smell at all when I wear this, and even after a hard workout at the gym, my pits don't feel sweaty or smell whatsoever! If you guys wants a full review on this product, just let me know! But I'm sure what I've said so far has probably sold the product already lol.

The next two items, I have mentioned on my blog before and I'm sure it's no shocker to you all that I'm mentioning them in a favorites. Yes To has always been one of my favorite drugstore brands and all month long I've been using the Yes To Tomatoes Detoxifying Cleanser and the Yes To Coco Nuts Melting Cleanser. As I've mentioned in previous blog posts I use the Detoxifying Cleanser mainly at night and to help battle any troublesome breakouts. The Melting Cleanser is my new favorite way to take off my makeup and I'm already running out! So I'm probably going to make a trip to the store and buy another bottle soon because it just works so well with my skin and takes off all my makeup in just one go!

Three things that I've been overly obsessed with this month is the lemon pound cakes at Starbucks, Starbuck's Iced Matcha Latte, and an app called Neko Atsume. Like I've seriously bought an Iced Matcha Latte every other day for almost a week straight. The level of how obsessed I am over these 3 things might be at a level to where it's probably considered unhealthy. I know for sure that the pound cake is not my friend after the second one, but I can't help myself they are just SOOOO good and I just love lemon flavored things. And the app Neko Atsume is highly addicting and some people might not understand why because all you do is set out food and toys out in your yard and then you close the app, after a while you open the app back up and see if any cats stopped by your yard while you were away. That's seriously all there is to the game. I didn't think I would be into this game because when my friends were playing it (like two decades ago) it sounded boring. But now I'm the only one late to the party and amongst my friends that still plays and is constantly checking the app. Anthony laughs at me every time we're talking on FaceTime and I put him on hold for a second so I can "check on my cats." I told him he needs to play too because,'s just strangely addicting.
Alright. To end this long post (I know, I said I would try to keep it short and simple, but that didn't quite workout, obviously) I have two song recommendations! Both these songs have that chill-R&B vibe to it and I love listening to them while I'm studying or driving. I think I've listened to these two songs over 100 times already.

Hope you guys had a good November! See you guys next month! I can't wait. Just a couple more weeks until I get to see Anthony and also bring 2016 to a close! The years are going by way too fast and it's probably just because I'm getting older haha.
