Date Spots In Nashville

February 12, 2016

Nashville may not be as big as NYC or have plethora of well-known food chains like California, but Nashville has a lot more to offer than people think. When people who don't live in Nashville think of Nashville the answer I always get is something along the lines of, "People ride around in horses and live on a farm." And Nashville is anything but that, so if you find yourself in Nashville this Valentine's Day or just happen to be in Nashville in general and want to know of some places to check out give these places I've listed below a peek!
1. Love Circle
The Love Circle is a well-known spot to Nashville locals. It's a nice little spot that has a beautiful view of the city. Although I'm sure that it's going to be quite busy on Valentine's Day, this spot is usually open to the public all year round. I'm not even sure if this is classified as a park or something, it's just an open field and it's right next to a famous country singer's house. (Not sure their name but that's just what I've heard) It's kind of in a hidden location and it's really easy to miss if you don't know how to get there, but you go down Murphy Road and it's off Acklen Avenue onto Love Cir.

2. City Hall Water Fountains
The fountains in front of City Hall in Downtown Nashville look just like a scene in an 80s love film. I've always imagined having a cute date here and it's a really fun place to play in during hot summer days. The only downside to this place is that homeless people tend to bathe in this area at times, I haven't seen any of them personally but that's what I've heard. This place becomes even more lively during Live on The Green (An annual free music festival in Nashville). It's also a nice spot to just sit and have long late night talks with your honey. There's a small piece of field right behind these fountains that's ideal to have a small picnic in as well!

Probably one of Nashville's most popular brunch spots! I've never been myself, but everyone I know who has gone have all said nothing but positive things about this place! Kind of cheesy to go to a place with the word "love" in it's name on Valentine's Day, but hey, Valentine's Day should be the one day where you should be allowed to be as cliche, cheesy, and mooshy all you want! Also, peep that awesome Nashville sign they have, one other reason to check this place out.
Frothy Monkey is one of my favorite coffee spots and they have three locations. Two in Nashville on 12th Avenue South + 5th Avenue South and then the third location in Franklin. If you go to the one on 12th Ave you have to get the "Rolando." They don't serve food menu items after a certain time at the 12th Ave. location but I'm not certain if it's the same for the other two locations. Regardless of which location you check out, Frothy Monkey is always a good place for you to share some delicious coffee with your sweetheart.
5. Jeni's Splendid Ice Cream + Ugly Mugs

For dessert stop by Jeni's Splendid Ice cream! They have multiple locations in Nashville so if there's a long line at one location you have plenty of other options to check out too! Because trust me, this place usually always has a long line forming out the door. My personal favorite flavors are the Wildberry Lavender and Brambleberry Crisp. Super good and not too overpoweringly sweet. You can create your own sundaes or even bring a tub of ice cream home with you! Also another place to check out right next door is a coffee shop called Ugly Mugs! Ugly mugs, good coffee <3
6. Middle Tennessee Hot Air Adventures

I've always wanted to go on a hot air balloon ride and I only just recently found out that Nashville had a location for hot air balloon rides! It's $200 per person or you can have a personal/private air balloon for $700. You can either book a hot air balloon in the morning to see the sunset or in the evening to see the sunset. It's a super romantic date idea and if money isn't an issue I would definitely say go for it! I'm thinking of saving up and possibly going on a hot air balloon ride soon myself!
7. Patterson House

In the mood for drinks but don't want that typical bar experience, then check out Patterson House! I've only been here once and their "Penny For Your Thoughts" drink is all I think about whenever I'm yearning for a drink. Patterson House is an exclusive bar that takes their drinks seriously. You can only get in if you make a reservation and there are absolutely no pictures allowed when inside. There is a dress code to follow when going here, which is semi-formal to formal. They are located in The Gulch down the street from Urban Outfitters on Division Street.

Also if you want to find out about more things to do around Nashville, there is an app to help you find out about upcoming events and activities exclusively to Nashville! The app is called WannadoLocal and is strictly just for the city of Nashville. You can download the app on your iPhone or any other smartphone; just make an account and choose the type of activities or events you're interested in and soon enough you'll have a list full of fun things to see or do! I've personally used the app before and that's how I found out about some of these places listed above! It is a great tool for when you can't figure out what you want to do or want to find new places to check out!
Nashville is slowly making it's way on the map of big tourist cities and it's growing more and more everyday. I love what Nashville is becoming and discovering new things and places only makes me want to see more of what Nashville has to offer! So if you and your Valentine are in Nashville this Valentine's Day I hope you  guys enjoy yourselves and find adventure this year

  1. I adore this post, and your pictures! I’ve driven across the country a few times, and I’ve always stopped in Nashville- but I’ve never had the opportunity to stop and explore. As someone who is from a place where people literally “ride around on a horse and live on a farm,” Nashville seems like NYC to me. :o) Thanks for reminding me of this jewel!

    1. Happy to hear you liked it! Hopefully next time you're in Nashville you'll be able to explore some more! :)

  2. This was my second time attending an event at this place, and was my first business event here (the other event was a charity show). Everything at venues in Chicago was perfect, the drinks and food was amazing. Even the coffee was wonderful.

Say Hello!
