Summer Vacation Essentials 2015 | Part Two

June 8, 2015

Alrighty guys so here is part two of my Summer Essentials for 2015 and this is basically going to be going over stuff that'll come in handy especially if you're planning on going on vacation somewhere! This post will also go over some skin care products that I feel will really do wonders for your skin throughout the summer and fight against the heat and humidity! Also if you're planning on working on that perfect summer bod I've included some cute fitness outfits and necessities as well! Hope you guys enjoy! :)

Vacation essentials

To start off I wanted to go over some key vacation items. I seriously cannot stand it when I go on vacation only to get to my destination and realize I have forgotten something! But before I go into the actual items I have pictured above I wanted to go over the importance of making a P A C K I N G L I S T ! A packing list is a must-have when going on a road trip or a vacation off to somewhere far from home. Make sure to go over the list multiple times and include everything you'll need, of course if you forget to include something in your list, you're going to forget it while you're packing! So double, triple, quadruple check!

Speaking of packing lists, here are some things I feel are important to include in that packing list:

1. Urban Outfitters Pink  Donut Pool Float $24 | Urban Outfitters Pizza Pool Float $55
This isn't really a necessity but it's super cute to have if you're just hanging out by the pool and it could come in handy if you have a friend that can't swim!

2.  Cheero Danboard Power Plus External Battery $50
An external battery comes in handy especially while on super long flights or during an extraneous road trip! Also you can never overestimate the life of your battery so having an external battery handy really saves your phone and your friends phones!

3. Fuji Instax Mini 8 $100
Cameras are a must-have when going on vacation and taking cute polaroids are a neat way of documenting your trip and fun summer days.

4. Wide Lens / Fish Eye / Micro Lens Attachment for iPhones
Having these attachment lens are a neat way to add some clarity and effects to your pictures. There is a more pricer lens called the Ollo Clip which will probably give your more bang for your buck, but cheap alternatives like these still get the job done for less.

5. Diane von Furstenberg Saluti Spinner Suitcase $110
When it comes to suitcases I feel having a suitcase that has the 360 wheels are very convenient. I also prefer suitcases that have that extender thing along the zippers because usually when you go on vacation you come back with more than what you left with so it's nice to have a suitcase that can adjust according to. The one I have pictured is just one that I thought was cute, I don't own that specific suitcase but I would recommend that if you're on the hunt for a suitcase to make sure it meets airline regulation measurements (especially if you just plan on having carry-on bags), and that it's also convenient.

6. Mochi Things Underwear Pouch $32
I literally fell in love with the idea of this product because I am a neat freak and have to have everything organized especially when it comes to packing, just having everything organized and having a place for everything makes your life and vacation much more easier. This underwear pouch is a ideal way to store and pack your bras and panties and it even has a little pouch in the middle where you could keep your tampons or pads or whatever you feel you need to store in there.

7. Sonia Kashuk Beauty Organizer $25
Just like the underwear organizer that I just previously mentioned I also fell in love with this beauty organizer! Sonia Kashuk is probably one of my favorite "designer drugstore" brands and the print to this collection is so chic and trendy I just could not stop thinking about it as soon as I set my eyes on this collection.

It has two velcro pouches on the left panel then a middle slip where you can store your brushes and then one big clear slot on the inside of the right panel. This is the ideal makeup/bathroom toiletries for when your traveling because it can store all your makeup and bathroom essentials all in one place. And if you're like me, I hate having to use multiple bags or pouches when packing.

8. Ribbon Hair Ties
Ribbon hair ties  are a great alternative to the regular hair tie because they don't create that awkward dent in your hair after wearing it for prolonged periods of time and they're just as cheap and you can find them for cheap anywhere from Forever21 or Sephora.

9. Yazbukey Passport Case $175 | Passport Jacket $45
It's always a good idea to have your passport in a safe place and to have a unique cover to it because a lot of passports look the same on the outside but you don't want to end up somehow accidentally picking up someone else's passport when going through security or anything. I mean of course what are the chances of that, but of course having an eye-catching cover will help you easily find your passport in your bag or if you just so happen to misplace it.

10. Barney's Proenza Schoulder Small PS Courier Backpack $1009
A backpack is a staple traveling item when going away somewhere. Of course go for practicality over style, or if you're lucky enough get a practical backpack that's also cute and trendy! Also the more pockets and storage space the better! The one I have pictured above was just for the aesthetics and of course I would probably never spend that much on a backpack, but kudos to any of those who would.

11. Lifefactory Glass Bottle $22
A water bottle is a necessity while traveling because it's ridiculous how pricey drinks can get so having a refillable water bottle is very useful and it's also very important to stay hydrated especially in the summer time!

12. Mochi Things Voyage Travel Planner $10
This planner is a great way to store all your important documents like your passport, license, and plane tickets! The journal is a great way to plan our and document your trip and just something you can look back on in the future to help you reminisce on your trips.

And just a quick disclaimer before I discuss certain products, I just wanted to say that I am in no way saying that these are the products you HAVE to try this summer or are the best for everyone. These are just products I find work best for me, personally, and are just suggested products to try out.

1. Tatcha Pure: One Step Camellia Cleansing Oil $48
2. Clinique Take The Day Off Cleansing Oil $18.50
3. Yes to Blueberries Cleansing Facial Wips $5.99
I personally think that cleansing oils are the best ways of getting of your makeup. I am very much in love with the Tatcha Camellia Cleansing oil and ever since I started using cleansing oils I have never wanted to go back to any other kind of makeup remover. However if I'm feeling a little lazy and only wore a little amount of makeup I just go towards using a makeup wipe and the ones I really like are the  Yes to Blueberries ones. The wipes are super soft and moisturizing and don't tug at my skin or cause any kind of irritation after using it, which is a big plus in my book because my skin is fairly sensitive and will break out or turn red from any slight irritation.

4. NARS Gentle Oil-Free Eye Makeup Remover $25
5. Maybelline New York The Flash Clean Makeup Removing Lotion $5.99
6. Almay Oil-Free Eye Makeup Remover Pads $8

7. Origins Checks and Balances Frothy Face Wash $12 / $21
8. Lush 9 to 5 Cleanser $11
9. Tatcha Polished: Classic Rice Enzyme Powder $65
10. Boscia Konjac Cleansing Sponge $15
11. Foreo Luna For Sensitive Skin $200

12. Philosophy "take a deep breath" Oil-Free Oxygen Moisturizer Broad Spectrum SPF 30
13. Supergoop SPF 30 Antioxidant-Infused Sunscreen Mist With Vitamin C SPF 30
14. Origins GinZing Refreshing Eye Cream $30
15. Origins High Potency Night-A-Mins Mineral-Enriched Renewal Cream $41

During the summer time the one thing I make sure to change up is switching from a liquid foundation to something a lot more lightweight and that have a less likely chance of melting off my face after being out in the hot sun all day. That's why I rely on powder products during the summer so instead of liquid foundations I prefer to use powder foundations, and the same goes for bronzers and highlighters as well. However if I feel I need a bit more coverage I like using tinted moisturizers or BB/CC creams, I also make sure my summer makeup products contain some amount of SPF as well.

For the lips I feel it's easier to wear a crazy, bright, neon lip color and not be judged. It's summer time and everything is bright and neon so why not your lips too? (Although I don't think I'd ever be able to pull off such a look) Also lipsticks might be too much of a hassle and pretty messy during the day when the sun is at it's prime, so try a lip stain instead! With lip stains you won't have to worry about it moving around or melting off during the day. Also liquified lipsticks have been a slight obsession of mine recently. I am absolutely crazy over the Too Faced Melted Lipsticks and the whole idea of it is just overall unique and I suggest everyone to try at least one! Also if you're looking for a good lip stain Benefit's Benetint is one I hear a lot of people raving about so check that out for starters! However with this being said it's still possible to wear lipstick during the hotter season, just make sure to blot your lips after applying and if you want to go the extra mile apply a thin layer of translucent powder to keep it matte all throughout the day or night!

With the eyes I think keeping it clean and simple is best for the summer. Dealing with smudged eyeliner and melted mascara is just a big "No-No" in my book and one less problem I want to deal with during the summer. So keeping it subtle and neutral is the way to go in my opinion!

Summer time is when everyone's starting to hit the gym more because they all want that perfect beach body. So I put together some cute workout outfits as inspiration to get in shape while still looking cute!
