Shoutout to everyone that wished me a happy birthday these past few days! And yes, I am 20 years old now and yes I am still in the process of accepting it, but I am just glad to get 19 over and done with because 19 was a very tragic age for me.

Congrats to Victor for being my favorite  birthday wish of the year! LOL Out of all the people to call me cool, he was the most surprising one haha. Never in a million years would I have thought he would call me cool, lol I sound like I'm fangirling. But YES! Twas a success. But much love to everyone else as well who wished me a happy birthday! And a special shoutout to juan for being the first one, dead on at midnight for wishing me a happy birthday haha
image

And sorry I had to do this to ya Eddie Spaghetti, but this birthday snapchat was just wayyy to adorable for me not to screenshot and share with the world haha.
But moving along....
I honestly did not do much for my birthday on my actual birthday day. I just went to work and that is about it haha.

But much love to Ariele and Leslie for surprising me at work and both, coincidentally, bringing me macarons, which I have been obsessing about for the past couple weeks lol. and I'm pretty sure my coworker thinks Ariele and I are now lesbian lovers because she witnessed us taking these selfies together and we looked like a straight up couple hahaha. No cares given though, cause we are used to people thinking that about us.

The minion in the front is my favorite one and I ate him last. It was pretty heartbreaking but he was tasty haha

And a HUGE shoutout to Deanna for the random birthday gifts lol. I LOVE THOR and she got me this hideous VooDoo Thor keychain ahaha and a Thor chapstick that honestly just feels like I'm using a gluestick on my lips. And this cute little button/pin came in the same package as the chapstick and I now claim it as my lucky pin because I wore it to work on my birthday and it was fairly an easy and, for once, a good day at work! haha
Overall, for once I can feel a difference in age. You know what I mean? People always say, "I still feel the same," when it's their birthday, but I guess I can say I feel different just because it's been a really rough year for me and now I'm 20. LIKE HOLY SMOKES GUISE, I've been blessed to live for 2 decades let's pray I stay alive for another 4 or 5 more lol

So today was the grand opening day for the new Jamba Juice downtown! And even though I didn't get to go with who I originally planned to go with, due to tight scheduling, I still ended up going with my cousin Leslie heh heh heh.
image

The place was a lot smaller than I imagined it and the drinks weren't as up to par as the west coast, but it's understandable since it is there first day and all. I'm just happy to finally reunite with my boo, Banana Berry.
image

OH and I forgot to mention that they are doing soooo wrong for charging for each boost. It's supposed to be the first boost free of charge and then you pay for any additional boosts. Oh whale. Everything can't be the same.
image

image
After Jamba Juice, Leslie and I went to this bakery downtown called "Provence." But the journey there was too funny. We somehow ended up in the ghetto part of town and it was just a mess. ( The situation, not the ghetto.) But we eventually found the macaroon place and it was totally worth it. WAY better than the ones I tried at Whole Foods.

This week hasn't been a very productive week for me, at least not school-wise. I haven't been as focused on my classes as I should be. I guess going to the beach was a win-lose situation and kind of threw me off track and focus. I've been slacking off on my assignments and my studying that I promised myself that this weekend is going to be the last of it (at least for a while). So to end the "Slacking off Week" right, of course I had to go party the stress and all the excess feelings of just wanting to chill, out of my system.

While at the mall I got to take a picture with the Frog guy from Rain forest Cafe

I'm so depressed at the fact that the only way I'll get to be next to Norman Reedus is a cardboard cutout of him at Hot Topic.

I'm pretty sure we spent a legit 2-3 hours at the mall. I've been wanting to go shopping for the longest and the urge to shop still lingers. I just want a couple more things for fall/winter and I think I will be set for a while.
Also, it's been a while since Eshie and I got to hang out! Shopping with her felt just like the good ol' days lol.

But moving on to later that night, my friends were having this get-together and so the homeboy Lil J scooped me up around 9:30 and that's when things just got blurry.

The night consisted of intense beer pong-ing and Honey Bunches of Oats.

Hashtag Team Curly Hair

Someone always ends up eating the Honey Bunches of Oats, and last night, I was that person.

I don't even remember taking this picture haha.

The Chad-ster had to leave early :(

And last but not least, this is Bill :)

Today I went to the beach in Biloxi, Mississippi and even though it wasn't as big as the beaches in California, it was still quite a nice beach. The sand was really compact and clean, and due to the humidity, it wasn't as chilly as it normally is in the fall.

Let me tell you about the drive on the way there though. Basically to sum it up, the drive consisted of a lot of espresso (cause we were driving at night) and a lot of off-key singing.

We literally stopped at a Shell gas station just to take a nap. And girl, let me tell you, that nap was like Heaven. But we had to continue on with the drive if we wanted to get there in time.

Beach Bum

Even though I only got to stay at the beach for maybe half an hour or so, it just brought me back to a "good vibes" kind of feel. I've been stressing over school and just everyday hassles lately that it felt really great to be at the beach again.

On the way back home we got Whataburger.
I'm still tripping about how they charge .38 cents for condiments.
The burger was alright. I still prefer In N Out though

Yesterday I went to the mall in search for some boots for winter. And out of curiosity, even though I already knew ahead of time that I could not afford them, I tried on some Dr.Martens boots. And let me just say that I have seriously never put my foot into something so damn cute and comfortable.
I've heard of a lot of people say that you really have to break them in when you first buy them and I could tell why. When I first walked around the store I could already feel this tightening around the from of my foot right before the toe area and this is the one place where I hear most people complaining about blistering and whatnot. Even the guy at the store had on Doc Martens and said he makes sure to wear the thickest socks when wearing his Docs because he's still breaking them in lol.

All I know for sure is that Doc Martens are definitely going on my birthday/Christmas list this year.

After class today my friend and I decided to stop by Walmart to pick up a few hair care essentials. And lately my friend has been using this Damage-Erasing Balm from the Loreal Paris Advanced Haircare product to recondition her hair since she's been doing a lot of bleaching to it.

Now, I've already tried a couple of shampoos and conditioners from this line and I fell deeply in love with them. I'm not entirely sure which ones I used specifically, but if I do recall it was the teal and pink ones.

Dun-dun-dun-dunnnnn! Thanks to some help from Google I found a picture of the Shampoos I used and figured out that the two previous shampoos and conditioners I've used from the Loreal Advanced Haircare line were the "Power Moisture" and the "Color Vibrancy" ones.

Just to sum it up, the shampoos and conditioners actually do what they say they do. The Power Moisture added soooo much moisture to my hair that I could not stop running my fingers through my hair throughout the day. It seriously hasn't felt so soft in years.

As for the Color Vibrancy, it softened my hair as well but since I've recently dyed my hair back to dark brown/black, I can't really say for sure if it's made the "darkness" in my hair more vibrant. But I just love pink too much and love the packing of this line very much lol.

Okay, so moving along to the ones I bought today. And to start off I was so surprised at how cheap they shampoos and conditioners were! At Walmart they were only priced for $3.97, which I did not expect. I was expecting them to at least be 5 dollars or higher because I know they work so well. But being as cheap as they were, it gave me more of a reason to buy them.

I had originally planned to just purchase the Damage-Erasing Balm because my friend, who's bleached her hair twice, has been using it recently and her hair is still healthier than mine and I have been trying to do the least bit of damage to it whatsoever.

I suppose I should give you a little background history of my hair first so it could give you guys a better idea of as to why it is that I am probably in desperate need of repair to my hair.

But basically since my sophomore year of high school (about 3 years ago) I bleached/dyed my hair constantly within each passing year since then. 2013 has been the first time since that I have rarely ever decided to go a shade lighter in hair color and to just go back to a more natural color. And throughout those 3 years my hair has taken quite a toll. Even in class today I had a wake up call when I was feeling through my hair and realized it was more dry and brittle than usual. Ariele even said it felt, "like a paintbrush."

I should donate the ends of my hair to starving artists who can't afford paint brushes.

And putting all my hope into buying these products I hope to finally get my hair back to it's ol' healthy self even though I'm sure some time in the future I am probably going to be putting in some pink in my hair. But until then I want to regain all the moisture and health back into my hair as possible.

The bottles all have "Ceramide" labeled on them and I did some amateur researching and found that it is a component, that could be found in the skin, that creates a protective organ to prevent water-loss from evaporation. Now that's probably not credible because I found that on Wikipedia lol but I supposed that should give someone a idea that possibly it's in the Repairing part of these products because it wants to lock moisture in.

The products claim to repair up to 1 years worth of damage just with one use. Now let's all hope, especially those who bleach/dye and use heat on their hair, that this is true. Because I have up to 3+ years worth of damage from bleaching/dying and probably even more years worth of damage from putting heat into my hair.

I will probably post a review of the products after a week of using this so look out for that ;)

Recently, I've had this song stuck in my head every day for the past week. I remember listening to this song when I first heard it last summer to the point that I got sick of it lol. But I am seriously in love with Jeni Suk and her voice! Her covers never disappoint me and she is just a great vocalist.

Only Wanna Give It To You (Elle Varner Cover) - Jeni Suk & Adrian

Recently, I've had this song stuck in my head every day for the past week. I remember listening to this song when I first heard it last summer to the point that I got sick of it lol. But I am seriously in love with Jeni Suk and her voice! Her covers never disappoint me and she is just a great vocalist.

My lovely cousin, Leslie, and I had a splendid and very successful shopping spree yesterday. It would've been absolutely even more fantastic if I came home with new shoes, but I'm still very satisfied with my purchases.

I don't know if this whole "tax-free weekend" trend happens in other states but around this time of the year, when kids are going back to school, there's no tax on certain items, mainly on items that are for school like supplies and clothes. The big plus is that electronics are also free of tax, but I don't have enough to splurge on a new laptop or anything, even though I know I will need a new "up-to-date" laptop for the semester. But I'll have to do with what I have for now.

Anyway, I was mainly shopping ahead for the fall/winter seasons because I feel I've spent enough on muscle tee's and sandals.

What my cousin and I ended up buying. What she bought is on the left and what I bought is on the right.

The striped sweater I bought, I felt and still kind of feeling iffy about, is a nice thick sweater, perfect for fall/winter. But the shoulders are kind of awkward and the back of  the shirt is longer than the front, even though I know for a fact high-low sweaters don't exist.

I absolutely lovelovelove the jeans I got from Forever21. Compared to the rest of their denim line, these jeans actually looked and felt like jeans. I'm not really a big fan of "jeggings" because of the skin-tightness of them and how they basically show all the curves and mold around your legs, it just does not look flattering on me. But these jeans hug my legs just right but showed me that I need to start working out again because I have no bootyshape whatsoever anymore.

My cousin and I bought the same "parka" jacket and I am absolutely in love with it. I know I didn't really have a great picture showing it off but I am in love with it because you have the option of having a hood or not. There was this other parka we saw at H&M that we liked, but I changed my mind about getting it because it was hoodless. So when I saw this jacket, for $20 bucks less might I add, I had to get it.

We also ran into the oh-so-cute Sara aka Luky and the adorable baby Evelynn ^__^
And I am super glad we did because today was her last day back in town!

After our little shopping adventure, Leslie and I went to Cheddars and was served by the wonderful Derek. And good thing we went last night because it was also his last night working there! He is probably the best waiter I've ever had and he deserved our $20 tip.

And finally to end our day we went to Kroger to get some makeup and this is what I ended up getting.

I FINALLY found the Maybelline Gel Liner in Black! All the other stores I've been to had all the other colors but black and I was lucky enough to get the last one last night. I also bought the eyebrow pencil by Maybelline. To be honest I prefer using powder for my eyebrows but I guess it wouldn't hurt to try something new.

I am super duper excited to try the Revlon Just Bitten Kissable lip stains! I've been searching for the perfect lip stain and I think this may be it. ^___^

And just for contouring purposes I picked up some bronzer which is also from Maybelline under the FitMe line by them.

I'll probably do a separate post reviewing all these items.

I say that yesterday was a very very rewarding shopping day :)

Yesterday the girls and I went to see the Lights by Bruce Munro in Cheekwood.

We got there during the late afternoon and so the lights weren't really all that visible yet, so we all just explored the exhibit while we waited. But since we pretty much passed the time exploring everything we saw majority of the museum before it even got dark.

The lights were really pretty overall though. I just wish I had better photography skills to capture the lights better.

We were basically just walking around and Ariele and Eshie were talking in fake British accents all day haha.

So many people were making terrible jokes about "Enlightenment" and "Balls of Energy" -____-

I know the main point of visiting the exhibit was for the lights but I think my favorite part was that there was a Jeni's Ice Cream stand there. Even though I was hoping Charming was going to be there, even though I knew chances of that happening were very slim, I love love love Jeni's Ice Cream ^__^

My favorite flavor (that I've tried so far) has to be the Brambleberry Crisp :)

We left the Lights around, I wanna say 9:30 ish, and none of us felt like going home so we decided to roam around downtown for a bit.

We ran into a familiar face when we got there and his friends were kind of a little too friendly. But after getting away from them we played a bit in the fountains in front of City Hall. Then we went to this hookah bar for about a half hour but none of us were really feeling it so we left and met up with a co-worker. And then this is where the night took a big turn and we somehow ended up going to a club. Out of the four of us, I'm pretty sure it was about 3 of our first times going to a club. It was really boring at first because no one was really there yet but around midnight or so it got somewhat more energized?

Deanna and I :)
It got way to hot so we decided to step outside and get some air.

I still cant' shake off how creepy some of the guys there were. They would just tug on your clothes or grab your hands and try to get you to dance with them, like no thanks.

It was fun at the time when it was happening, but I don't think clubbing is really my scene. I already knew that, but I thought I'd give it a try and I think I'd only go clubbing if I'm with people I trust and a bigger group haha.

Also another thing I hate about the club is the huge X's they put on your hands when you're underage, because those markings take centuries and a lot more  than elbow grease to wash off. -____-''

Today was the first of August and that meant Inventory Day at work and Inventory Day meant majority of the employees had permission to come in late today. SO I took advantage of that because today was also my little brother's first day of school! He was not the least bit excited about it at all. The whole time my mom and I were walking him to school he was pouting and had his arms crossed. It was kind of heartbreaking to think that he wouldn't like school and didn't make any new friends. But the first day is always the hardest and I know he'll make new friends throughout the year. It's kind of funny though because his teacher is the same teacher my older brother had for first grade haha

At least he smiled when I asked him to take a picture with me! He was so nervous about his first day of school >___<

After dropping my little brother off I asked my mom to take me to the DMV since we "had time" since I didn't have to be at work until 11. We made it to the DMV at 9 and I ended up waiting there until 1. I totally hated my life but hated it a little bit less if it weren't for running into one of my coworkers at the DMV. I swear he saved me from total boredom. It was kind of awkward seeing him outside of work though because at work I don't do my makeup for dress up like I was today when I ran into him. But we managed to survive 3 hours of waiting. I just hated it because I just had to renew my permit and it only took, literally, 5 minutes to do.

Little brother knocked out in the car after a half day of school and when he and my mother picked me up at the DMV. So cute =^___^= He said he had a good day in the end though and had a couple friends in his class so that was really reassuring :)

My coworker somehow beat me to work even though I left before him. It was probably because he went straight to work after he got called in and I had to go home and change and whatnot. There was really no point in us going to work because we got there at like 2 and work ends at 4. But it's whatever it's better than missing a whole day and not getting those 8 hours in. Because when I had to miss work to go to orientation my paycheck amount was cut so low because of it that I chose to work soooo much overtime just to make it up.

I keep thinking today is Friday and that I don't have work tomorrow, but I do and so I should be going to bed now because it's nearly 10:30 and I have to be up in about 6 hours.
